La Paz - La Cumbre - Coroico:

Down the world´s most dangerous road (as described by some guide books) For Sky Bolivia, the most "challenging and unique bike ride in the world".

Notable hightlights:

· A unique descent from 4700 mts to 1300 mts in 62kms, from snow-covered peaks to the semi-tropical valley of Yungas, one step before the Amazon Basin!!.

· Part of the ride is on the spectacular road dubbed by the Inter-American Development Bank in 1995, as the world´s most dangerous, for most, the most challenging, exiting and unique bike ride.

· After the ride, time for relaxation and a drink at the quiet town of Coroico. Return the same day to La Paz, or stay at a hotel with swimming pool!!

Suitable for:

· Confident beginners in a touring mood, not for racers or circus clowns!!

· Age: 19 to ?? ageless enthusiasts, average fitness

· And in particular, those wanting an unique world-class downhill mountain-bike ride.

Description:
We drive to La Cumbre (4700m) with fantastic views of a number of snow-covered peaks. Our descent starts around 0930 hrs, paved road for about 18 kms,lunch at 1200, down through twisting roads, waterfalls, a drug check-post (?!) and eventually to the warmth of the tropical edge of the Amazon Basin.

Other options:

· Overnight in Coroico is highly recommended rather than returning to La Paz the day same day.

Total time required: 13 hours (rtn to La Paz) or 7 hours (to Coroico)
Approximate riding time: 4-5 hours
Approximate downhill %: 90%, only one section contains a few uphills.
