At 3400m, Cuzco is a charming city that exudes a unique atmosphere resulting from the encounter of Spanish and Inca civilizations, represented in the architechture of the city. The magnificent Inca stone walls with rounded corners are there to be marvelled. We recommend a guided city tour to admire the ruins, both in the city centre as well as in the surrounding areas. Machupicchu, considered the most important archeological site in South America, is also a mere 4 hour train ride away. Finally, the town of Pisac offers fabulous local markets to bargain for traditional cultural wares.
